Cindy finds Mr Right!

My name is Cindy I have been supported from Community Connections for a long time. I live in my own flat now by the beach in Raumati and I am going to stay here for good. I had a goal and that was to find me Mr Right. I waited and waited, it took years, I was lonely and felt upset at times, but I was patient.
Last year at our Christmas party I saw Graham. I started talking to him - we talked for two hours. I asked him if he had a girlfriend he said “no”. I knew straight away he was going to say yes to be my Mr Right. Graham didn’t know what Mr Right was so I got Bonnie from my support team to help me explain. He gave Bonnie his number so we could have a catch up at his place with her there because you have to take things slowly and make sure we are right for each other. Bonnie took me into Wellington to visit Graham. She left me at his place for a while and came back and picked me up. I was really excited and nervous.
From then on I have spent most weekends at his place and mine. I am really thankful to the staff who have taken me to his place for arranging visits. We spent Christmas together and my mum took us kayaking. That was funny - I rolled out, Graham was good at it he didn’t roll out. New Year’s eve was cool we went to the Village Inn and watched the band then went home and had a midnight feast - chippies and dip.
I have been so busy lately I also had my 34th Birthday which was in January and we had it at Monteiths and 18 people came. That was with family, friends and staff and of course Graham! We had a lovely dinner and dessert was yummy. We also had dance and a drink and didn’t get home until nearly midnight.Graham helps with my medications and checks my readings are not too high. Also he has cooked me dinner. He treats me like a princess.
Thanks for letting me tell you my happy story.
