Full Time and Part Time Support Workers- 24/7 Support Waikanae - Multiple Positions. Applications close 5.00pm Friday 6th of April 2018

If you answered yes to these three questions then we would really like to talk to you! We are looking for people to work in our 24/7 service in Waikanae.

Community Connections is a community based support service for people with a lived experience of disability. We support each person to live their good life within a citizenship framework. Support looks different for each person with a focus on facilitating natural networks that endure. The aim being that people have the supports necessary to enable them to live in their own home, to connect with their community and to enjoy a fulfilling life.

We seek team members to fill full and part-time roles supporting an individual in their home and in the community. These positions vary in hours of work with evening, overnight and weekend work available.

We are seeking multiple team members who are able to be patient and reflective in the manner that they work, able to follow a structured support plan, and have good communication within a team. You will have good networks in the Waikanae area and be able to bring a fun and dynamic approach to your support. An understanding of bi cultural practice in Aotearoa New Zealand is important to this role.

You will be involved in the planning and delivery of support alongside the individual being supported and their family/whanau. You will be working with a great team of staff, networking in the community and working with other agencies. You will be an organised and confident person with excellent communication skills.

Experience with supporting Autism or mental health issues is desirable, as is a current first aid certificate. However, these are not essential as full training is provided. Also someone who enjoys the outdoors, and is comfortable working in a semi-rural setting would suit this role well. To access our web based scheduling and payroll system you will need to have your own 3G or 4G capable smartphone or tablet, and be competent with using it. We pay a data allowance for your work use. A full drivers licence is required. Dependent on the level of your qualifications, the pay rate for this position is between $19.00 and $23.50 per hour.
